Donetsk National Medical University “DNMU” is the best and the largest medical university of Eastren Europe. Donetsk National Medical University “DNMU” was established in 1930 as Donetsk Medical Institute. In 1994 DNMU was given the status of University and in 2008 DNMU has got the status of National Medical University and it was renamed to Donetsk National Medical University. DNMUis counted as one of the best medical school in Ukraine and in all over Europe

Donetsk National Medical University ranks as Ukraine`s number one medical university which every year produce great doctors and future scientists. Donetsk National Medical University welcomes thousands of students from over 190 countries who between them speak over 140 languages

Donetsk National Medical University “DNMU” was the first medical university of Ukraine which was recognized by World Health Organization (WHO) and from Directory of I-Med Schools. Donetsk National Medical University (Kirovohrad Medical Institute) is registered with the world Medical Universities list.

Donetsk National Medical University “DNMU” is the most attractive to foreign students among other Ukrainian medical universities due to it’s highest ranking, high level of specialist training, high tech laboratories, good knowledge of English language of the staff, campus system of the DNMU

Today more than 15000 students are studying at eight faculties of Donetsk National Medical University“DNMU”. Among them there are about 4200 foreign students from Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, USA, UK, Germany, Poland, Greece, Israel, Turkey, India, Nepal, Srilanka, China, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Peru, Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Tunisia, Kenya, Namibia, Zambia, Lebanon and from other countries studying at the DNMU at the moment. Due to the high level of specialists training and considerably low tuition fees, DNMU is one of the most attractive Ukrainian Medical Universities for the foreigners.

In total more than 52,000 highly qualified doctors, well-known scientists, researchers, health service organizers from Ukraine, Russia, other CIS countries and as well as from 96 countries of the world from Africa, Asia, Europe and Americas have graduated from the Donetsk National Medical University (Kirovohrad Medical Institute). Among them were more than 8000 foreign students from all over the world including 3 Doctors and 70 Candidates of Medical Science, about 200 clinical post-graduates (residents).

At present the total teaching staff at Donetsk National Medical University “DNMU” is 1147. Among them are 150 professors and 243 Associate Professors, academic title of doctors and candidate of medical sciences are respectively 117 and 449 people.

FACULTY OF GENERAL MEDICINE

A great achievement of the faculty of general medicine of Donetsk medical institute was the first degree award ceremony for physicians which held in February 1936. Faculty has awarded the degree to 161 students. Those all students completed the medicine from Donetsk medical Institute. By the same year in 1936 the second batch of Doctors has been awarded with the degree. At that time under faculty of general medicine were working 33 departments, employing 23 professors, 34 associate professors and 24 assistants. Many students, doctors and professors of Donetsk medical institute proved themselves the fearless patriots who find themselves behind enemy lines. Head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, R.N. Holovaty commanded the partisan detachment in the Donetsk region, Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry J. M. Fomichev acted as part of a guerrilla group in the Dnipropetrovsk region, third year student A. Vassiliev has helped 243 prisoners escape from a concentration camp in Donetsk. D.M. Fomichev and A. Vasiliev had been shooted by the Germans. While in captivity, military doctor Alexander Vorobyov provided medical aid to the wounded and sick, organized shoots

In the 1945-1946 academic year, at the departments of Donetsk medical institute were working 126 teachers, among them 14 professors, 22 associate professors and candidates of medical sciences.

In 1992 the faculty of general medicine of Donetsk state medical university was divided into first and second medical faculty.

Admission Requirements

STEP 1: HOW TO GET INVITATION LETTER

  • To get an invitation letter from Donetsk National Medical University (DNMU) we require the following documents
    • Copy of International passport
    • Copy of School leaving certificate
    • You can send us the documents by email or by fax

STEP 2: VISA

  • After getting invitation letter from Donetsk National Medical University (DNMU) students should contact to nearest Ukraine Embassy or Consulate. He/she should apply to Ukraine embassy with the following documents
    • Original Invitation letter
    • Original international passport (valid for one year)
    • Higher Secondary School certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Birth Certificate (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Medical Certificate showing absence of Aids/HIV (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • Medical Certificate showing physical and mental fitness (translated into Ukrainian language)
    • 8 Passport size Photos

STEP 3: ARRIVAL

  • After getting visa from Ukraine embassy or Consulate, students should inform us about his/her flight details with date and arrival time.
    • One of our representatives shall receive the student at the airport.
    • In case student will not inform us about his/her arrival, he/she shall be deported back to homeland
